Information of Bharat Darshan Train:
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has started a special “Bharat Darshan” tourism train. It is one of the most affordable tourist trains and operated by Indian Railways. The price of the package is low which can be easily afforded for every passenger. In a tour of 8 to 9 days, tourists will get a chance to explore the places covered in the package. The package offers reservation in sleeper class with a capacity of 500 passengers. The train provides pantry car facilities even the passengers can order food online in train via RailRestro and various discount offers.
The Journey of Bharat Darshan Train
Day One (06.12.2019):
The train starts its journey by departing from the source station “Agartala” in the morning at 06.12.2019 which is the first day of the journey. On the same day in evening, it halts at Badarpur station.
Day Two (07.12.2019):
After departing from Badarpur the train reaches Guwahati the very next day. After halting for an hour the train starts its journey and crosses two stations New Bongaigaon and New Cooch Behar by morning. New Jalpaiguri is the next station where train halts in the afternoon and departs towards the next station and halts in the night at Malda Town.
Day Three (08.12.2019):
Departing from Malda Town, the train reaches Kolkata on the third day in the morning. After arriving Kolkata, passengers’ are transferred to bus and the journey to Gangasagar begins. At Gangasagar, IRCTC has arranged overnight stay and dinner for the passengers.
Day Four (09.12.2019):
On the fourth day of the journey, in the early morning after breakfast, all passengers’ are made to proceed for Gangasana. Gangasagar is an Island in the Ganga delta which lies on the continental shelf of Bay of Bengal about 100 km South of Kolkata. The island is among the most popular Hindu pilgrimage place in the country. As there are quotes in Hindi that “sab tirath bar bar Gangasagar ekbar”. In Hindu religion, having a bath in Gangasagar once is worth for life-time. Taking bath and performing rituals the passengers are again transferred to Kolkata for experiencing the beauty of the metro city. Now passengers are taken to the Dakshineswar temple which is located in Dakshineswar, close to Kolkata. After Dakshineshwar again the passengers are taken to journey for Puri. Dinner will be provided on the train and overnight journey will be continued on board.
Day Five (10.12.2019):
After overnight journey, Bharat Darshan train reaches Malatipatpur, Puri in the morning on the fifth day of the journey. Now the passengers are taken to experience the majestic Jagannath Temple, which is one of the major pilgrimage destinations for Hindu. After exploring the beauty of Puri the passengers’ are free for leisure in the evening to rest and overnight stay at Puri only.
Day Six (11.12.2019):
The sixth day journey after breakfast, the journey will continue to the stunning temples of Puri. Konark Sun Temple is the first temple on the sixth-day of journey. After exploring Konark Sun Temple, passengers are taken to have lunch. Now post lunch the passengers’ are taken to some of the Lingaraj Temple, Udaigiri and Khandagiri at Bhubaneswar and later return back to Puri and board train. The train will continue its overnight journey and dinner will be served on train only.
Day Seven (12.12.2019):
After departing from Malatipatpur, the train reaches Malda Town and halts for 5 to 10 minutes and continues its overnight journey.
Day Eight (13.12.2019):
On the second day of the journey, train crosses four stations New Jalpaiguri, New Cooch Behar, New Bongaigaon Jn, and Guwahati in the evening.
Day Nine (14.12.2019):
After departing from Guwahati, the train reaches Badarapur and finally reaches Agartala and ends the tour.
Facilities during the Tour:

- Up to 15 days – Rs. 250/- per person
- Up to 8-14 day- 25% of the package cost
- Up to 4-7 day- 50% of the package cost
- Less than 4 days- 100% of the package cost
- Always keep extra cash for any urgent requirements.
- Carry first aid box with all necessary medicine.
- Carry some snacks and refreshments with you.
- Keep all your ID card items with yourself like: passport, driving license, voter ID card and pan card etc.
