Why Check Your Train PNR Status Enquiry on Mobile App?

Indian Railways have launched many services to make passengers journey more comfortable. With the advent of digitalization, the journey becomes more and more effortless. At this time, more than 80% of the passengers have at least one smartphone. And most of them have already installed the PNR Enquiry app before the boarding date.

A PNR number is a set of ten-digit unique number. These numbers are the auto-generated numbers. When Passengers book ticket either via PRS counter or by IRCTC's website, the PNR number will generate in the database and same will be print on Passenger's ticket. These numbers hold Passenger's necessary information like name, date of Berth, journey details and contact information.

The mysterious fact about PNR number is its starting digit tells about the zones from where Passengers have started their journey and the destination zone. And only the last two digits are unique. And after 11 months of generating, these PNR numbers are auto-deleted from the database of the Railways. Isn't it mysterious? Because PNR number along with identity card like ADHAR, PAN Etc becomes passengers identification certificate and approval document of their journey!

Once Passengers get their PNR number, means Passengers get the key of checking the confirmation status of the ticket. That means these PNR number is not only helping Passengers in their identification; it will also be aware Passenger about their berth allocation status. It will tell either reservation is in waitlisted status, RAC or confirmed.

Passengers can check their PNR status by their smartphone. There are a lot of applications and websites available on search engines. Via Indian Railways PNR Status, one can know the current status of their PNR number. The PNR number crosses many stages after their generation.

If the seats are vacant at the time of booking, then your seat will be confirmed at the same time. But if the seats are not vacant or you have booked it by PRS, then your ticket must cross the various stages like RAC, Waiting or confirmed.
